Exploding the "Outlet" Myth: There is no such thing as an "Auto Outlet". By Pennsylvania franchise law, all new vehicles are sold by franchised automobile dealerships. Both of the so-called "auto outlets" are owned by the same multi-millionaire, who is in turn part of a larger "dealer group" of other multi-millionaires. Huge dealerships actually have higher overhead, they have much higher employee turn-over, and their customer satisfaction scores are consistently lower than Carousel's. Besides, who do you think pays for all those splashy full-color ads, radio and TV spots, and self-promoting billboards? Answer: You do.
As anyone who has been to CompUSA or Wal-Mart knows, bigger stores do not often provide better service. In fact, the service is usually much worse, although the prices can be lower. The difference here is that every car dealer pays exactly the same price for an identical vehicle, regardless of the dealerships size. Why put up with all the crowds, hassle and inferior service when in the end you won't even save any money?
